So, the world has changed! but we have to watch the path we are running on. Are we carrying clear vision or its blurred one? Here is the story I stumbled upon. At first, I thought it as one of the gimmick journalism news item.
Does your Pepsi lack pep? Is your Coke not the real thing? India’s Hindu nationalist movement apparently has the answer: a new soft drink made from cow urine.
The bovine brew is in the final stages of development by the Cow Protection Department of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), India’s biggest and oldest Hindu nationalist group, according to the man who makes it.
Om Prakash, the head of the department, said the drink – called “gau jal”, or “cow water” – in Sanskrit was undergoing laboratory tests and would be launched “very soon, maybe by the end of this year”.
“Don’t worry, it won’t smell like urine and will be tasty too,” he told The Times from his headquarters in Hardwar, one of four holy cities on the River Ganges. “Its USP will be that it’s going to be very
healthy. It won’t be like carbonated drinks and would be devoid of any toxins.”source and full story : Timesonline UK
Here is my comment on one of the blogs that posted same news item.
Urine of Farm animals is certainly not good for human consumption and don’t forget its pre-products people eat in animal flesh, which is bought at supermarket and OOOOF the pork YAAAAAOOOOKKKKKK !. At least we in our Hindu tradition do not drink dead animals waste. lol
Cow specially Indigenous and Indian cow and with further classification of breeds like more popular KAPILA GAAYE carries tremendous therapeutic enzymes in her body fluids. And in body fluids milk is most nutritious and suitable for regular consumption by humans. Even the new age scientist sitting in high profile medical labs have found therapeutic benefits in urine of Indian cows. You should know cow urine is one of the things India exports to western countries where big pharma companies synthesize it and use in syrups and medicinal compounds for treatment under medical therapy
World really is an amusement park or better I say, “A drama theater”. Every new day there is new show to watch.
I must put forward my viewpoint on this news story. First of all, I totally agree with usage of cow urine as a sacred/religious faith and also under medical therapy, but I can not agree a bit and neither would like to see this as commercialized product, “canned and refined” cow urine on shelf of shops. It will be nothing less ridiculous to witness, IF this became a reality. But, I am sure, we as Hindus would not accept synthetic fabric on our religious beliefs. I would rather like to rear a cow to get “FRESH” urine and cow-dung “Gobar”, than buying it form a shopping-mall. Just here, I see myself sitting directionless. That’s the big irony of urban culture. We have paved cement on every inch of city land and forgot about the cattle we use to rely upon. If someone loves urban culture. then New York is there for them. Earn your qualifications and fly to urban heavens. Here in Punjab most of villages have deserted look on houses, young men and newly wed couples have moved to US and Canada. Yes! surely they love urban heavens. On the other hand, westerns are falling in love with Hindu culture they are living as sanyasies (devoted denouncer) in rural/religious places of Uttar Pradesh (U.P.) like for example ISKCON members. World goes on…… Its a big drama out here………
