Los Angeles area hit by second earthquake in three days

The magnitude-4.1 earthquake was centered in Hawthorne not far from downtown Los Angeles, with a depth of 7.5 miles (12 kilometers) , according to the USGS.The shaker followed a magnitude-4.7 temblor that struck the Los Angeles area Sunday evening, with its epicenter 10 miles southwest of downtown Los Angeles.

Earthquake hits Saudi villages
RIYADH, Saudi Arabia: Saudi Arabia’s earthquake
monitoring service is urging residents of several villages in the kingdom’s western region to
evacuate after it recorded a temblor measuring 5.39 on the Richter scale.The Saudi National Center for Earthquakes and Volcanos said in a statement Wednesday the pre-dawn quake caused no damage or injuries. But it urged residents of five villages west of the holy city of Medina to head to tent camps and shelters set up by authorities.

Earthquake hit J & K
Kishtwar (JK), May 20 Over four dozen houses developed cracks following tremors in Kishtwar district and its adjoining areas in the wee hours today.
The earthquake measured 4.9 on the Richter scale, MET department said.The tremors, lasting for a seconds, occurred around 0100 hours in various areas of the district and its neighbourhood, Additional Deputy Commissioner, Kishtwar, A R Natnoo said, adding there was no report of any loss of life or injury.
