Just a few days back one teenager came to me and asked if he can make a free call to his contact in USA. This made me pause for a second, teen are more effectively using internet services then grownups. I have never used VOIP service before this, so we searched together for PC to phone calls. One thing became clear to me that 99% of VOIP service providers have listed this keyword “Free calls PC to Phone”, free internet telephony, free VOIP calls and make free calls to international destinations, but most of these do not offer free PC to Landline (fix phone) or PC to mobile phone calls though some of these companies do offer free PC to PC calls. is one more VOIP service provider and its Free too. I have user it to call a contact in USA and it rang but I was not able to hear response. Then I called my other contact number in my room and found out that there was a delay of more than 15 seconds in communication. This service provider is Germany based you need to click on American flag icon given on top right corner to see it in English language.
RESULT : A high speed broadband connection (minimum of 512 Kbps ADSL, best at 2 Mbps broadband and above) is required to make VOIP calls to international destinations, which in last turns out to be more costlier than making ISDN calls via BSNL or any other offline voice calling provider.
